Frequently Asked Questions

How do we know the camps you send kids to are safe?

Helping Heroes Kids (HHK) has had the privilege of sending eight kids to camp in three years. HHK only sends kids to ACA Accredited camps as they have the highest safety standard in the industry. So far our camp of choice has been YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps in Northern Michigan. Safety is the number one concern at Hayo-Went-Ha with the entire staff going through extensive training and background checks prior to the beginning of camp. Additionally, a well-equipped health center is maintained at their camps. Click here for more information on YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps, HHK’s choice of camps for kids.

How does Helping Heroes Kids really make a difference?

Helping Heroes Kids’ (HHK) specific purpose is to benefit families who have lost parents or who have members that have been seriously wounded in either combat or service to this country, including firemen and police. Often times these life-changing events cause both emotional and financial stress on the families. HHK’s helps to provide an opportunity for kids to enjoy a better quality of life by sending them to camp or by helping to provide funding for college.
